“It’s time for us to return to our natural state,
to wash the dirt from outside and in.”
There are two iNovelLinks for Chapter 2. The first is an artistic one. Three artists have been asked to draw, sketch, paint – whatever – their impressions of the Hot Springs Island Hotel. Why three? To illustrate how we all see the same thing in different ways and how perspective is everything. To make the hotel seem more real but more elusive at the same time.
The second link is an interactive map (including photographs and a QuickTime movie) of Hot Springs Island and the town of Troy.

Solveig Nordwall was born in Sweden, raised in Norway and Canada, and spent 17 years in Japan, and 12 in Hawaii, (in Hilo, on the Big Island, where she plans to finally build home base, and do lush, tropical drawings and paintings, and wear a muu muu and a big red hat, until she slips out the back door at aged 103, smiling...)
Most of her work is done in pencil, either coloured or graphite. This one was also, but with a more whimsical bent. It was easy to picture this hallway; one of the fun things about old established B&Bs is perusing all the memorabilia accumulated over the years.
By incredible good fortune, Solveig now resides with her two cats in a beautiful little apartment above the water in View Royal, BC. She is working on her website.
